Our chagaccino recipe includes chaga mushrooms, a well-revered superfood. Containing a complex blend of essential nutrients, chaga is believed to support everyday health and balance. Combined with milk and spice, it offers a rich and creamy drinking experience without the need for complicated recipes or machinery. Sometimes simple is better.
If you want to know how to make a chagaccino, find the recipe below.
What Is Chagaccino?
Chagaccino is a remix of the classic Italian “cappuccino” drink. However, instead of coffee, milk and chaga mushrooms are used.
Add in a splash of additional ingredients like cocoa, cinnamon powder, etc., and you’re left with an indulgent drink without the caffeine crash. And it’s beyond simple to make; all you need is a whisk, a small saucepan, and a strong arm.
The major benefit of our recipe is just how versatile it is. If you’re a vegan, it's easy to use a dairy-free base like hemp, oat, or nut milk. However, you can keep it classic by using regular dairy milk.
Unlike a coffee shop, brewing at home is affordable, and the process can be therapeutic and calming in itself. Plus, it takes less than 10 minutes to make – great even for when you’re in a rush.
Chagaccino Benefits
Chaga is a type of mushroom that primarily grows on birch trees. It’s been used for thousands of years, notably in Russian and Chinese herbal medicine, to benefit general health and wellbeing.
Over the last few years, many Western cultures have discovered just how useful these mushrooms can be, as well as others like lion’s mane and reishi. Not only are chaga mushrooms high in antioxidants, but they are a rich source of beta-glucans, which help regulate the body’s immune system.
These mushrooms also contain a good source of:
- Fiber
- Amino acids
- Vitamin D
- Iron, magnesium, and potassium
All of these compounds are important ingredients for living a balanced and healthy life. For instance, vitamin D supports the growth of healthy bones and teeth, while magnesium can help regulate blood pressure.
The popularity of chaga mushrooms has led to many delicious and easy-to-make consumables, just like our chagaccino drink. Not only can you enjoy the mushrooms' benefits, but the flavor as well!
What Does Chagaccino Taste Like?
Like most mushroom drinks, chagaccino has a rich and earthy taste. However, the inclusion of cinnamon and cocoa gives it a sweet and spicy flavor too.
If you enjoy creamy drinks, chagaccino is ideal. It contains a milk base, making it feel warm and comforting to consume. Whether you want to use the drink as a morning brew or a relaxing drink for the afternoon, you can.
