How to Make a Reishi Mushroom Latte Recipe

Reishi is a popular, kidney-shaped mushroom that many consume for its therapeutic value. Amongst many things, reishi is believed to support the immune system, improve sleep, and increase energy levels.
Our reishi mushroom latte celebrates the fungus in all its glory by combining it with a rich and luxurious latte base. We’ve crafted a recipe that is not only simple to make but tastes delicious too, with additions such as cocoa powder and cinnamon.
Whether you are vegan or not, you’ll find this recipe easily adaptable to your dietary preference. Take a look at why we have chosen to use reishi below.
Reishi Mushroom Latte Benefits
The reishi mushroom, also referred to as Lingzhi, is a common ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine. For over 2,000 years, it’s been used to make teas and soups for those fortunate enough to harvest it.
Reishi grows at the base of trees (commonly maples); however, it’s notoriously rare to find in the wild.
Ancient cultures believed reishi aided metabolism, virility, memory and has even been described as an “immortality mushroom.” While it hasn’t yet proved itself as the key to mortality, some studies show that it does have potential health benefits.
Beyond the potential medical benefits, reishi is regarded as nutritious, containing fiber, vitamins, minerals, and a significant amount of amino acids. Additionally, reishi includes a diverse range of phytochemicals, such as beta-glucans and triterpenes.
Beta-glucans are especially intriguing as research suggests they are useful for various functions such as immunity, healthy skin and may even help reduce risk of heart disease.
However, little clinical research has been conducted on reishi's benefits, like many other medicinal mushrooms. But initial studies look promising.
How to Make Reishi Mushroom Latte
As mentioned above, reishi mushrooms are difficult to find in the wild. Because of this, cultivation has become an enormous industry. To make consumer lives even easier, reishi can be bought in various forms, including;
- Powders
- Tinctures
- Capsules
Our recipe uses reishi powder, as it’s easy to measure out. At VidaCap, we've done the hard work for you with our high-quality reishi mushroom powder available for sale. You can use the powder in our reishi mushroom capsules.
Another benefit to using reishi powder is that it can taste very bitter and sometimes unpleasant when the mushroom is eaten in its natural form. By using it in our reishi latte, users can avoid this and instead enjoy a delicious beverage.
Reishi Mushroom Latte Recipe
Our reishi latte recipe is beyond flexible to make, and it’s easy to substitute for vegan options.
For instance, you can use hemp milk instead of dairy or natural maple syrup instead of honey. You can even add in a shot of espresso to create a coffee latte, perfect for early mornings.
Whether you want a healthy alternative to a high-sugar drink or you want to reap the benefits of reishi, this drink is ideal.

Final Thoughts About the Reishi Mushroom Recipe
Our reishi recipe can be prepared and made within 10 minutes with only a blender and a small saucepan. However, like any drink, the final result is only as good as the quality of the ingredients.
That’s why we always suggest buying sustainable and premium reishi powder. Take a look at the Vidacap store for various mushroom powders, all of which have been crafted in the US.
